    Basic Allowance For Housing (BAH) gives active service members two options for housing; living on post or finding a home off-post within the community.

    • Once you have orders to move, contact the Housing Services Office (805) 982-4321. They can answer all of your housing questions and provide services such as referrals, resolving tenant-landlord disputes, and guidance for entering lease agreements.

    NB Ventura County On Base Housing

    • Single service members can contact Unaccompanied Housing (805) 982-4551 Port Hueneme / (805) 989-0406 Point Mugu for questions, check-in requirements and room assignment.

    • NB Ventura on-base housing is privatized and managed by Lincoln Military Housing Port Hueneme (866) 239-2765 / Point Mugu (888) 887-3356 / Catalina Heights (888) 857-6528. They offer 8 neighborhoods with 2-5 bedroom single family and townhome style residences. The community features swimming pools, fitness centers, tot lots and more.

    Oxnard is a large city and part of the greater Oxnard-Thousand Oaks-Ventura metro area. While this area is definitely well-populated, it is not as crowded as some other major areas of California. Oxnard itself has been called one of America's safest cities, in spite of being the largest in Ventura County. Nearby towns and cities offer convenient off post housing in less urban settings than Oxnard itself; Ventura, El Rio, Saticoy, Camarillo, Somis, Newbury Park, Thousand Oaks, and Moorpark range from small towns of 1,000 people (El Rio) to larger areas with 100,000 people (Ventura).

    About the Installation
    Naval Base Ventura County is made up of 3 different sections including NSWC Port Hueneme Division, NAS Point Mugu, and facilities on San Nicolas Island, located just off the coast of Ventura County. These bases came together as a part of the base realignment and closures in 2000. They offer aviation support, training and support of the Navy's Seabees, and contain the Navy's only deep water ports between California and Washington.
